Katy Serafin at the Workshop on Correlated Extreme Events

Katy Serafin presented Compound flood risk in the south San Francisco Bay: A city manager’s worst nightmare at a workshop organized by Columbia University’s Initiative on Extreme Weather and Climate. Her work, in collaboration with Jenny Suckale and Jack Baker, studied the risk of compound flooding due to dam overspill from rainfall hazards in a changing climate coupled with failure risk from earthquake ground shaking.
